Benefits of Working at Bennco Engineering
Fostering a balanced, family-friendly culture.
Bennco Engineering employees join an organisation where leadership is visible, accountable, and genuinely invested in each team member’s growth and wellbeing.
The investment Bennco Engineering makes in its people is not only measured in dollars. It is measured in time. In presence. In a flexible rostering model built around school pickups and family life, not around operational convenience. In a 24-hour mental health support program, developed from the ground up, that three Tier One resource companies have since adopted. In leaders who are reachable, visible, and genuinely invested in the lives of the people they lead.
In the Pilbara, where the working environment can compound every other pressure, that quality of care is not a perk. It is the operating model of a business whose leaders understand that performance in the field begins with how people feel before they arrive.
Genuine Career Progression
Bennco Engineering promotes from within and invests in long-term career development.
Our entire supervision team has been promoted internally, and the transition from Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) supervision to a fully residential leadership team reflects our investment in empowering local capability.
Its Residential Apprenticeship Program has been running since 2020, built in direct partnership with Tom Price Senior High School and local Indigenous groups. Each year, four young people from the region begin a four-year trade pathway combining hands-on site work, structured coursework, and mentorship from experienced tradespeople who live and work alongside them. Trades covered include fabrication, heavy fabrication, boilermaking, sheet metal work, and specialised welding.
Case Study: From Apprentice to Workshop Supervisor
Connor Burge joined Bennco Engineering in 2023 as an Apprentice, recruited directly from our annual intake at Tom Price Senior High School. After completing a two-year Boilermaker apprenticeship, Connor was promoted to Workshop Supervisor in December 2025.
He now benefits from an internal career progression pathway with regular opportunities as Acting Workshop Manager. Connor’s journey demonstrates our commitment to developing local talent and rewarding performance with real advancement.
Community Connection and Belonging
Working at Bennco Engineering means becoming part of the Pilbara community.
We contribute over $250,000 annually to local sponsorships, sporting clubs, and community events, with a target to grow this to $500,000 by 2028. Employees are encouraged to participate in local groups, including AFL, soccer, dancing, and the Tom Price Mountain View Golf Club, with Bennco Engineering covering the cost of memberships. This directly impacts not just our employees and their families, but the entire community.
